IT SHATTERS AT LEAST 10 RECORDS! 'Dark Knight' Played to $43M Sunday; $158.3M Crushes Weekend B.O. Record And Should Break Best Week Record, Too
MONDAY AM: Bigger... Bigger... BIGGEST! The Dark Knight's weekend tally was more than first thought -- a record-setting $158.3M, according to Warner Bros. That comfortably beats Spider-Man 3's $151.1M for best-ever 3-day non-holiday weekend. The latest Batman installment's Sunday take of $43M was down only -8% compared to Saturday's and set the best-ever Sunday total for its 9th record. It's 10th record will beat the all-time first week tally.
SUNDAY 8PM UPDATE: I've just been told by unofficial sources that Warner Bros' The Dark Knight is playing to packed Sunday performances for over $40M and maybe as high as $43M. That would mean a 9th record since Spider-Man 3's Sunday take in 2007 was a best ever $39.9M. It's also now abundantly clear that the Warner Bros caped crusader will crush the old 3-day weekend non-holiday record set by Spidey 3 last year. So rival studios were wrong to question whether Warner Bros' Sunday numbers were too aggressive! Also, Dark Knight should break its 9th record by beating the all-time weekly tally. Meanwhile, in its first six days, DK will have grossed more than the entire run of Batman Begins. See my previous, 'Dark Knight' Breaks Eight Film Records.
We saw it on Saturday night and W-O-W, I cannot wait to watch it again. Post to follow...

Submitted by Strive2Be.This book is so sad and depressing...I tell myself I have to stop reading it because it makes me so sad but it's reality...
Richard Wright grew up in the woods of Mississippi amid poverty, hunger, fear, and hatred. He lied, stole, and raged at those around him; at six he was a "drunkard," hanging about in taverns. Surly, brutal, cold, suspicious, and self-pitying, he was surrounded on one side by whites who were either indifferent to him, pitying, or cruel, and on the other by blacks who resented anyone trying to rise above the common lot.
Black Boy is Richard Wright's powerful account of his journey from innocence to experience in the Jim Crow South. It is at once an unashamed confession and a profound indictment—a poignant and disturbing record of social injustice and human suffering.

so i tried sleeping in late this morning since i have today off but couldn't. hubby decided he could not stay in bed any longer so he took roxy for a walk and watered the lawn while i ignored all the noises and got some more zzz's. i wish i could have slept longer..up at 8ish...ugh.
i had lunch at mom's house while i waited to pick hubby up at the doc's office. mom and i watched her fave spanish gossip show, we had a blast making jokes and poking fun at other peeps expense. it was really nice hanging out with her in her home. i don't go very often (i have my reasons that i would rather not talk about right now). i could see how happy she was that i surprised her and stayed a while. i have to admit, it felt good.
hubby was ready to have a late lunch when i picked him up. we went to mimi's in los feliz and got stuck in traffic, what's new? we hung out at home for the rest of the evening. after some zzz's and me going stir crazy i decided to
read, blog, watch tv, called my bff but he's MIA. now what? my bros are watching dark knight again! tomorrow will be the 3rd time they see it. we're going with them to westwood and yes tickets have already been purchased.gosh i figured i would be happy to be home relaxing but since i'm so used to hanging out with friends on friday nights i think i am having withdrawals...bwahahahaha.
until tomorrow, good night my friends.
so my brothers and their co-workers/friends have been going crazy about the dark knight movie that's coming out tomorrow. they are the biggest batman fans and for the past year have done some crazy stuff in relations with the release of the movie.
here they are last year at comic con...i believe they were doing another scavenger hunt.
they are such nerds (lol) and are sooo into it that they were lucky enough to have a cake delivered to their office with a another clue inside of it. i'm telling you, they are definitely into it. i know there's more but i can't remember...
so what did they do last night? they waited in line @ virgin records to get a signature of the peeps that composed the music for the movie and get some snapshots. tonight they are going to watch the movie at 12 midnight. i went last time (batman begins) and it was too hard for me to work the next day so i decided not to do it again. well, guess what? i have tomorrow off but no tickets are available.
i'm going to watch it saturday night with my bros....that's OK i can wait.
